Riverside is an inclusive church in Whitstable, Kent full of wonderful imperfect people working out how the Christian faith is applied in the real world.
If you’ve never been to church before, or you are maybe looking for a different expression of church, we would love to meet you.
If you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community, then please know that you can find a safe, welcoming church family at Riverside. You will be welcomed without any glass ceilings or hidden agendas.
We believe we need each other, with all our beautiful diversity and difference, to reflect the creativity, image, and joy of God. When we get together, we want a real encounter with God and each other, so we try to be loving, we try to be honest and we try to be family.

Look out for our gate flags as you approach the site. There is parking on-site and free street parking.
WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
Our morning service starts at 10:30AM.
WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?
Whatever you want. Most people who come dress casually.
WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?
A relaxed and informal atmosphere where hopefully you will feel welcomed and at home.
As you enter you will find Riverside Cafe, where you can treat yourself to a drink, or breakfast before the service. Our Welcome Team will also be ready to greet you.
THE SERVICE
The service starts with a time of sung worship which lasts for about 20-25 minutes. The songs we sing help us express what’s in our hearts to God. The words will be on the screens, so feel free to join in, or just sit and listen to the music.
During the service we have groups for babies, children and teenagers - please ask a member of the Welcome Team about Riverside Kids and our Youth groups.
Mid-way through, we take a short break for notices and information. We then have a talk inspired by the example of Jesus, followed by an opportunity for prayer at the end of the service.
AFTER THE SERVICE
We serve free refreshments after the service and Riverside Cafe will also be open, if you fancy a special coffee or a bite to eat.
