Riverside is a charismatic affirming church in Whitstable, Kent full of wonderful imperfect people working out how the Christian faith is applied in the real world.
Our vision is to see the transformation of our coastlands through the goodness of Jesus. We welcome and serve people from a wide area including Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Canterbury, and Thanet.
When we get together, we want a real encounter with God and with each other, so we try to be loving, we try to be honest and we try to be family.
We believe we need each other, with all our diversity and difference, to reflect the creativity, image, and joy of God. If you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community, then please know there is a safe and friendly church family at Riverside and you’ll be warmly welcomed if you choose to visit. We have no barriers in the fair and equal treatment of all people regardless of their sexuality or gender identity.
If you’ve never been to church before, or you are maybe looking for a different expression of church, we would love to meet you.
If you are visiting for the first time there is some information here that might be helpful. We have onsite services every Sunday 10:30am.

Affirming Church
In March 2022 Riverside completed its journey to become an affirming church community.
This means we celebrate and affirm every person, not discriminating against anyone, in anyway.

Come and enjoy great coffee & amazing food at Riverside Cafe. Open Monday to Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Growbaby
Growbaby provides good quality, new and second-hand, baby clothes and equipment (up to 5 years), completely free of charge, to anyone who needs a little extra help - regardless of their income, background or faith. Please contact us and we would love to see how we can help.
