June Reflections

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me…the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40

Riverside Vineyard Church believes that following Jesus means we are faithful to serve the poor, build community among the poor and love the poor, compelled by the love of God.

We have some very exciting news: we have just launched our new compassion project — Growbaby. The original Growbaby started in Kingston Vineyard Church in 2003 and there are now 26 centres across the UK and one in Germany.

Our vision is “to provide good quality, new and second-hand, baby clothes and equipment (up to five years), completely free of charge, to anyone who needs a little extra help – regardless of their income, faith or background.”

Growbaby will be open here at Riverside on a Monday between 2 and 4pm to welcome people who want to come and have a cup of tea or coffee and choose what they need.

If you would like to get involved, then there are many ways to help. We need people who can wash and iron clothes, clean equipment, sort clothes or be here on a Monday afternoon to welcome people. Please see Kath Haines or Keely with your availability.

If you, or anyone you know, wants to donate anything, then please bring it along to Riverside during our regular opening times and leave it in the store in the foyer.

Please pick up a flyer, Like our Facebook page Growbaby Whitstable, share the good news and pray for the ministry.

We are so excited to have the opportunity to show God’s extravagant love in practical ways.
